Here’s my B.O.A.T. list where I’ll prove the old acronym, Break Out Another Thousand. There are always things that need to be fixed or upgraded, always things on the wishlist. I figured it would be a good idea (or maybe not such a good idea…) to track the maintenance and upgrades over time. The idea is that I’ll keep a wishlist of upgrades, required maintenance, completed maintenance and the cost related to the work.
Wishlist
- Replace main sheet traveler system, Catalina Direct Traveler Car Upgrade Kit, $350
- Replace main halyard and jib sheets, Catalina Owners Running Rigging Calculator, $215
- Various LED upgrades, anchor light, steaming light, bow and stern lights, interior lights.
- Install reserve battery and echo charger
- Install stereo and speakers (need to research)
- Upgrade old Raymarine C70 chartplotter
In-Water Maintenance To-Do
- Replace original battery compartment with a larger one
- fix muffler leak
- Diagnose and fix Jabsco manual head not filling with water/flushing
- Service cabin top starboard and port winches
- Clean and lube steering system
- Replace water pump impeller
- Clean raw water intake strainer
- Clean/replace fuel filter
